So you don't get confused when you come visit, remember that there is the groundlevel (E=Erdgeschoss) and then the first floor (what Americans would call the second floor).However, if you don't want to push the wrong button, join me on the stairs (except when I injure my meniscus).

Ironically, after a decade in Europe I just met up with friends in a dept store and had a miscommunication on where to meet. We agreed "second floor" coffee shop... but I waited and waited and finally just as I was pulling out my cell phone, the friends rang. "Where are you?" they inquired. "At the 2nd floor cafe." I responded. "No, we're at the 2nd floor cafe." As it turned out we were both right! I was on the 2nd floor european while my european friends forgetting their american friend knew the 2nd from the 1st were at the 1st floor european assuming as an american I'd go to "the wrong floor"! It was hilarious!
