The purpose of this blog is to handle all the interesting comparisons I've made between American and German culture as I've been living in Germany. Expatriate life is fascinating. I love, love, love, love, love Germany, German, and Germans!
If you have a question about Germany that I haven't posted about, leave a comment with your website or email address and I'll contact you ASAP.

That might sound a bit crazy, but...
This saying actually was inspired by the jewish wish for their holiday "Rosh ha Shana"
(which is the new year's beginnin in the yewish calendar).
"Rosh" sounds like "Rutsch" (slide) for the Germans, so they made "Guten Rutsch!" out of it :)
Really!? That is so interesting!
Your blog is so interesting! But we also say "Frohes neues Jahr" which means 'happy new year'! :D
Keep up the good work! :)
Stimmt, und danke!
