*Blue Pipes*

When I was brand new in Leipzig, I saw these blue pipes throughout the city. Since there were several new buildings going up, and the city even has its German version of Boston's Big Dig, I thought they were part of the construction. However, they're permanent fixtures!

I guess it makes more sense for repairs and building and such to have pipes above ground, but to me, it's an eyesore. Could they at least refrain from painting them bright blue? I've also seen a lot of blue bridges. How very un-Frank-Lloyd-Wright-ian.

Great blog! I think I might have actually met you this summer. I was living in Leipzig during the horrid and wet month of June (only horrid because it rained 85% of the time) and doing a teacher exchange at the Herder institute. I went to a young single adult meeting at the LDS church were you my change their? What brought you to Leipzig in the first place.

Oh and actually the tour guide in Leipzig last summer told us that the pipes were temporary. Once they finish building the under grown train system under altstadt then they will take the pipes away. But I don't know for sure. I just hope they are not always going to be a part of Leipzig. It was much prettier with out them. :)
